“You cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore” – Andre Gide

Hello and welcome to my travel blog The Discovery Service! Here you will find in-depth accounts of my various travel experiences in addition to reviews of various establishments such as hotels and restaurants. As the blog is still relatively new, a lot of content has not been put up yet but the US, Europe, and Asia should all be completed by the end of the spring and my summer trip hopefully to Africa will add even more content!

The main purpose of my blog is to exhibit and help people discover some of the more uncommon, overlooked, and lesser visited sights, communities, landmarks, and regions of the globe. Locations where people may have heard of but rarely seen, or areas where many simply never knew it even existed. I’ll also share my experiences visiting famous and renowned sites alongside with very brief visits in the form of galleries. By going to some of these places, I hope to teach and inspire others to learn about, and explore this exciting and beautiful world of ours.

In addition, I also aim to use my writing to bring hope and compassion to those afflicted by mental illness. As an individual who has struggled with sicknesses of the mind and spirit for over a decade and being a suicide attempt survivor, I am familiar with these challenges intimately and I wish to illustrate how traveling, whether big or small, can invigorate a renewed sense of life and purpose.

I hope you enjoy what I have to write and say about the world and feel free to click on a region of the Earth you wish to explore and pressing the WordPress logo will take you back to the homepage. In addition, if you would like to follow my blog via email, feel free to enter it down below and also check out my social media profiles. Lastly, if anyone has any questions or comments feel free to let me know as I would more than enjoy hearing from you!

Thank you and happy trails,

Josh Woolstenhulme
